What BallroomRank is

BallroomRank is an independent, unofficial aggregation of published DanceSport competition results, for research and reference. It is not a governing body, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by NDCA, WDSF, WDC, WDO or any competition organizer or results provider. Its rankings and scores are not official rankings, titles or qualifications. For official placements, eligibility or titles, refer to the organizer or governing body.

Results and rankings

Results are collected automatically from third-party sources and can be incomplete, late or wrong, for example when a source publishes an error, a name is spelled differently, or two people share a name. Scores, ranks, predictions and statistics are estimates calculated by software from those results; they are opinions about past performance, not facts about anyone's ability, and they change as new results arrive and methods improve. A missing result does not mean a dancer did not compete. The About page explains how rankings are calculated.

Using the site

You are welcome to browse, search, link to and share pages, and to quote individual results with a link back. Please do not:

• copy the database in bulk, or scrape or crawl the site in a way that ignores robots.txt or the rate limits, or slows the site for others;
• try to get around access controls, break or probe the site's security, or use another person's account;
• use the site to harass, threaten, impersonate or spam anyone, or to collect information about dancers to contact them without their agreement;
• present BallroomRank scores or ranks as official rankings or results.

We may limit, suspend or block access that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.

Accounts and claimed profiles

An account is optional and uses Google sign-in. You must be 16 or older to have one, and 18 or older to use the partner finder or private messages. Keep your Google account secure; you are responsible for what is done with your BallroomRank account. Claiming a competitor record says that the record is you: claim only your own. A parent or guardian cannot claim a child's record, but can ask us to correct, hide or remove it. A claim is a self-declaration, not a verified identity, and we may remove a claim, a profile or an account that is misleading or disputed.

What you post

You keep ownership of the profile text, photos, forum posts and messages you add. You allow us to store and display them on the site, in the places you choose, for as long as they are there. Only post content you have the right to share: your own photos or photos you have permission to use, and nothing unlawful, hateful, sexual, misleading or that reveals another person's private information. We may remove content or lock threads that break these terms, and we may remove posts that are reported to us while we look into them.

Partner finder and messages

The partner finder lists dancers who choose to appear in it. We do not check members' identities, levels or intentions, and we are not part of any arrangement you make with another member. Take sensible care when you share contact details or meet someone in person. Report abusive messages to ballroomrank@gmail.com; you can also block a member from messaging you.

Corrections and removals

If a result, a name, a partnership or a photo is wrong, or you want a record about you removed, use Request a correction or removal (linked from every profile) or email ballroomrank@gmail.com. Include the page and, where you can, a link to the published source. We review every request; the Privacy Policy explains how requests are handled.

No warranty

The site is provided free, as is and as available, without any promise that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted or fit for a particular purpose. Do not rely on it for decisions such as entries, eligibility, selection or payments. To the extent the law allows, BallroomRank is not liable for losses arising from use of the site or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law where you live that cannot be limited.

The site links to competition organizers, results systems and other sites we do not control; their own terms and policies apply there.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the site changes and will change the date at the top when we do; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions about these terms go to ballroomrank@gmail.com.
